THE BIO
Calvin Yordy is an American artist. He works with a variety of media including sound, paint and found objects.

In the early-2000's, Calvin Yordy launched projects under the moniker 'X-42.' Very few of these paintings were created and most remain in Calvin's private collection. However, there are a few in circulation and the location of these rare pieces is still a mystery. For some strange reason, Calvin stopped painting.

In 2006, Calvin was a solo musician in Brooklyn, NY. He released a lo-fi EP entitled Bedroom Recordings. Inspired by acts like Daniel Johnston, The White Stripes and Bishop Allen, Bedroom Recordings was a personal statement that resonated with purists. All the songs on the EP were recorded in one take with one microphone. Bedroom Recordings is no longer available commercially.

In early 2007, the artist moved from Brooklyn to Olathe, KS to focus on writing Lost in the Dirac Sea (PART 1), a 5 song EP inspired by the midwest lifestyle. Recorded and mixed by Nick Day (The Only Children, The Cavaliers) at Black Lodge Recording in Eudora, KS, Lost in the Dirac Sea (PART 1) is Yordy's most aggressive, rock-driven sentiment to date. The EP was mastered by Doug Van Sloun (Bright Eyes, The Faint, Azure Ray) at Focus Mastering in Omaha, NE. The EP is only available as a limited-edition package in hard-to-find places.

Most recently, Calvin Yordy recorded and released Lights Fantastic - an 11 song debut album. The record was produced by Dave Percefull (David Cook, Bowling for Soup, Zac Maloy) and mastered by Derek Taylor (Bush, Blue October). Snippets of the album are available to stream on Calvin's myspace page. The record is also available to download on major digital services.

In 2009, Calvin suddenly stopped recording to focus his efforts on 'painting life.'
